I would like to know what’s the best approach to finding an alternative to Amazon’s FBA process since the change of their policies. As far as I could see, the majority of 3PL options only work with huge shipments, which is usually not the case with first-time Amazon sellers, so it’s actually quite hard to find a place to store your product (followed by having it shipped to the customer, of course). Do you have any advice/recommendation/best practice kind of thing?

Hi Clinton,

No, that is the Inventory Performance Index score. Not how much inventory you should have in stock. It is based on a few factors such as excess inventory, sell-through rate, stranded inventory, in-stock inventory.

If the score goes below 450, you may be limited in what you can send into Amazon fulfillment centers.

There is no minimum to the amount of inventory you can ship into FBA.

Thanks so very much for edifying me. It’s invaluable. However there is just one thing I don’t understand. The IPI score threshold is 400. Does the 400 means my inventory shouldn’t go below 400? What about people just starting up? Is there a minimum limit I can start with? Many thanks.

if you store your goods at a 3PL location, how is the stock and sales linked to your seller account if they are off amazon premises?

That I am not sure of. Most 3PL’s, as you said, do not service one product per SKU.
